  1. dude the 9000 turbo is legit proof that displacement is just a number, those things made serious power from like 2.0L and the boost curve was way more efficient than the v8 muscle cars of that era tbh. you’re totally right about the value too, people sleep on fwd turbo platforms but the engineering was there the whole time, cant believe theyre still so cheap when you look at the actual torque figures.

  2. ngl these saabs are criminally undervalued at auction right now, ive seen clean 9000 turbos go for like 4-5k when they should be double that. the turbo technology was ahead of its time and your looking at solid collectible potential if the interior aint completely trashed. tbh id rather flip one of these than another generic 80s bmw, way more character and the parts market is suprisingly decent.

    • yeah exactly man, the 9000 turbo is getting slept on hard. people dont realize how ahead of the curve saab was with their boost management back then, like they nailed the spool characteristics so you get instant throttle response instead of that lag you get on alot of v8s. theyre gunna appreciate once collectors figure out that turbo efficiency beats displacement every time, plus finding one thats actually been maintianed right is rarer than people think so your sitting on a goldmine lol.
